  3. This program code, screen layouts and name are protected by 
  4. US and International copyright laws.  It is unlawful to sell
  5. distribute, or decompile this program without the written consent of
  6. TurboStats Software Company.

  20. How to install:
  21.  
  22. - run setup.exe (in the directory where you unzipped the files)
  23. - after setup is complete you can delete the files in the directory
  24.   where you unzipped winstats.zip (they end with "_"). You might 
  25.   want to copy these files to a floppy disk to give to your friends
  26.   to try.  ( 1 1.44 meg floppy is fine) you don't need to copy
  27.   the file winstats.zip. Just the files that were uncompressed.

  29. How to run:
  30.  
  31. Double click on the TurboStats Icon the setup program created
  32. or double click on stats.exe in the File manager application
  33.  
  34. -Open the sample team to see how data is entered
  35. -Click on the <Help> button in the team form for a quick demo
  36. -Click on the <Games> button the enter the game form
  37. -Click on the lower rightmost icon to run a game form demo 
  38.  
  39. How to create league printouts:
  40.  
  41. -Create a team for each team in your league
  42. -After entering game data for each team use the command
  43.  Compile Stats > Create a league disk  (in the Game Form)
  44. -Repeat for each team
  45. -In the Stat Viewer use the command <File><Merge>
  46. -Select each team .lea file from the directory until all teams are merged
  47. -Sort on any stat and use the <File><Leader Report> options
  48.  
  49. How to create Team Records:
  50. -Use the league example above at the end of each season year
  51. -Merge the stats into one report and save it as "records.sts"
  52. -Each year open records.sts and merge in your latest team
  53.  
  54. Troubleshooting question
  55.  
  56. 1: Depending on which version you have downloaded you may need a
  57. copy of vbrun300.dll in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory in order
  58. to install and run TurboStats.
  59.  
  60. 2: Can't copy THREED.VBX: If the install program cannot update the vbx files in your system
  61. directory because you currently have older versions of these files
  62. in your system directory. Simply delete or rename the file
  63. that the setup program complains about. example: error "cannot copy threed.vbx"
  64. fix: rename threed.vbx in your system directory to threed.old and run
  65. install again
  66.  
  67. 3: Some older graphics driver may crash the program when you enter the
  68. game form or during drag n drop field layout. Solution: get the updated 
  69. graphics drivers from your graphics vendor or use the standard vga or 
  70. super vga drivers included on your system.  This is not a software bug!
  71.  
  72. 4: Printing in landscape mode:
  73. Problem: some printer drivers do not change to landscape even after you
  74. select the landscape option thru the print option in TurboStats.
  75. Solution: This is a printer driver bug.  Exit out of TurboStats completely
  76. and then change your printer to landscape thru the control panel.  Restart
  77. TurboStats and it should print fine.
  78.  
  79. 5. Out of memory: If you get an out of memory message while running TurboStats
  80. you should do the following. 1. make sure all other Windows application are 
  81. closed while running TurboStats ( check your system resource usage in the program
  82. manager using "Help""About program manger").  2. Avoid using the game form and
  83. stat viewer concurrently. 3. Make sure you are running Windows in enhanced mode.

  102. Fixed possessions and possession time in the Game Form. 
  103. ( Note: if you saved any games in version 1.0 you must resave the game 
  104. for the game totals to be correct.  Just change anything on the game and 
  105. change it back to save )

  107. Fixed the wrong position file ( came up with baseball positions ). 
  108. You must delete the file "positions.dat" in your football directory  
  109. (if you are using version 1.0) to correct this problem.  
  110. Then start up TurboStats for Football and it will create a new file for you.

  120. Fixed printing of a single game box score

  122. New : now you can track stats for individual plays and print report summaries 
  123. by plays. ( see sample team for example)

  125. New: paper miser check box in the File > Page Setup screen.  Reduces confusion 
  126. about printouts that don't automatically eject from the printer.  If the paper miser is 
  127. checked then any one report that would have printed on multiple sheets of paper will 
  128. wrap under the stats from the page previous and will eject from the printer after the 
  129. report is printed.

  131. ver 1.0b: 9/10/96  Fixed Quarterback Rating ( tested with NFL stats.  It works fine now )

  134. New: calculates total points in reports.  New ( key feature ): check box to turn off all 
  135. players in report with zero stats in the category.  
  136. ( great for separating the offensive/ defensive / kickers etc from appearing in the wrong 
  137. reports ).  Fixed: tracking of the longest ( run, catch, pass, fg, kickoff, punt, etc ) 
  138. stat.  Fixed: calculation of player totals.  Fixed FG%.
